MONEY PROTECTION

That ad popped up at exactly the wrong time. The price looks unreal. The product looks like it was made for you. Your cart is full before you have even asked one important question: Is this business real?

A Baddie budget is not only about what you save. It is also about what you protect. Scam ads, fake stores, and too good to be true offers can take money that was meant for your bills, your goals, or your peace. Before you press buy, use this simple checklist.

Pause When the Deal Feels Too Perfect

A huge discount can be exciting, but it can also be a pressure tactic. If an ad says you need to buy right now, offers a luxury item for a suspiciously low price, or makes you feel rushed, pause. Real businesses want your money, but they do not need you to panic to get it.

Give yourself ten minutes before checking out. Open a new tab. Search the company name plus the words complaint or scam. Look beyond the comments under the ad. Fake reviews and fake comment sections exist, so check more than one source.

Do a Quick Seller Check

Before you give a website your money, look for the basics. Is there a real contact page? A clear return policy? A physical address or a customer service email that is not a random free inbox? Does the website explain shipping timelines and refund rules?

Also read the fine print. A low price can come with surprise shipping fees, a difficult return process, or a product that looks nothing like the picture. Your money deserves a little investigation before it leaves your account.

Protect How You Pay

How you pay matters. Be extra cautious if a seller insists on gift cards, wire transfers, crypto, or a payment method that is hard to dispute. Those are payment choices that can make it much harder to get your money back if something goes wrong.

Keep screenshots of the ad, the product page, your order confirmation, and any messages with the seller. It may feel like extra work in the moment, but receipts are proof if you need to challenge a charge later.

Let Your People Be the Reality Check

Scammers want you isolated and moving fast. That is why a quick text to a friend can save you money. Send the link. Ask, Does this look real to you? If you feel embarrassed, remember this: smart women get targeted too. A scam is not proof that you were careless. It is proof that somebody designed a trap.

The Baddie way is to protect the bag before it leaves your account. Slow down, check the facts, and trust yourself enough to walk away when something feels off. Your future self will be glad you did.
